Trains and Trolleys - A Study in Transportation

In August 2005 I was contacted by the Creative Director of Innova Ideas and Services, an advertising agency in Ames, Iowa. The client was an electrical contractor for a number of city government transportation departments. The project was to photograph two trolley stations in San Diego, CA, and the Amtrack Metrolink workers and trains in the Los Angeles area. The images were to be used in a corporate marketing brochure.

The Creative Director, Linda Griffen, wanted lots of images showing motion blur and movement, as this created more interesting photographs and solved the problem of getting model releases from trolley and train passengers. The photo shoot was a great success, with both the client and the agency commenting on the excellent images. Although this was my first project for Innova Ideas and Services, they have since asked me to shoot other projects due to results from this train and trolley shoot.
